Lake Pepin

Earlier this week I got a call from Virgie, Kathy's mother-in-law. She had reservations for a 1 day bus tour to Lake Pepin. She couldn't use it because she had a schedule conflict and wondered if I'd like to go.

So, on an absolutely beautiful summer day in mid September, I traveled to Lake Pepin for lunch and a cruise. Both the bus tour guide and the cruise captain/guide were most knowledgeable of their respective areas and made the trip very enjoyable. And the lunch was wonderful. Below is the trip description:

LAKE PEPIN CRUISE/APPLE ORCHARD

September 17, 2008 - (Wednesday)

ü Enjoy lunch at the Chickadee Cottage in Lake City.
MENU: Roasted herbed pork loin, mashed potatoes covered with apple cider gravy, crunchy apple cabbage slaw, roll, coffee, and apple walnut cake with a poured-on caramel frosting.

ü Then it's off to board the "Pearl of the Lake" On Lake Pepin for a relaxing cruise.

ü Afterward we will stop at the Pepin Heights Apple Orchard, where many goodies await your purchase.
